The synths are charged, all systems go! The ‘lectric Disco Robots are ready to attack! Let the invasion begin!

After a brief hiatus, Bethany has returned to ABL:Radio with a new vigor. During her time away, she did a mix for Attitude City, secured more devastating vinyl classics, and started planning her next blitz to liberate your stereo system. On her intrepid campaign she encountered casualities, her headphones exploded toward the end of a take. Gabe, her ever resourceful and creative husband, quickly came to aid with Krazy Glue™, temporarily resuscitating the headphones long enough for her to triumph on this crucial mission.

We’re happy that the this mix was a success and that no humans or animals were actually hurt in the process. Plus, you get to hear multiple Lime songs with 2 versions Angel Eyes mixed, Freeze’s I.O.U. , some DMX Krew and a sweet NYC disco track I haven’t quite put my finger on yet. It’s now ok for you to leave the bomb shelter, get some sunshine, and enjoy this mix!

As a sometimes grammarian, I do appreciate the a-e-i-o-u-and-sometimes-y track.

I wish I had a keytar and a gang of BMX bikers at my disposal like John Rocca does in that video!

love the new mix, bethany. keep up the good work. you do live sets anywhere by chance?

  7. Dennison 22 Oct 2006 at 4:44 pm

All of Bethany’s sets are recorded “live”. While she plan what records she uses in advance, they’re all recorded on one straight shot. You can find Bethany’s mixes here http://rawkawn.com/bethany/mix/ from before we started the ABL:Radio project.

    but no live preformances?

  9. Bethanyon 22 Oct 2006 at 9:50 pm

Hi imunderpressure – I do love DJing at clubs and parties if that’s what you mean by live performance. Not sure where you are located, but if I play in Brooklyn or NYC any time in the coming year I’m sure you’ll hear it first here.

Ah, I was a little confused. I read your comment too fast and thought you meant, did we have any recordings of live performances? Bethany is still down in Atlanta, though we’re making it harder for her not to be in Brooklyn ;)
You can catch Jon G, Adam Smith, and many of the other DJs on the podcast around Brooklyn and NYC. I’m in the process of setting-up a monthly party that should start in December. I have a great venue right now, but transportation wise, it’s a little inaccessable.

ha…yes..sorry. Im never too sure what the correct term for djs is anymore. Spinning/preforming/playing/DJ’ing…but you got the jist.
I do live in Brooklyn, Prospect Heights more specifically. Im always trying to find new places to chill and do a little dancing. Im new to the city and am interested in meeting new people and making some friends, so it would be great to get to a show.
hope you guys checked out my blog. I mostly reblog, hopefully will have more original content one of these days. I will always be linking back to you though.

Fell free to reblog any of the ABL:Radio content. Also, I need to do a better job announcing events ahead of time. Adam S. and Jon G. spun at Double Happiness in Manhattan on Sat night. We had a great time, place was packed. We’d like to get more stuff going in Brooklyn. Most of us are around Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill with a few in Williamsburg. Seems CG/CH just isn’t the right kind of neighborhood for DJ events.

I’ve not been to those parts of Brooklyn yet, but it seems that finding the right “scene” has been a dificulty for promoters and djs, within Brooklyn. Studio B was nice, in Greenpoint, but it seems they may be looking for bigger names. I’m not sure.
Let me know if you need help at all. Im all about it.

Bethany is my disco guru. Every mix gets a hammering. Didn’t know that she also happens to be a beatiful woman. I think I am in love.
