ABL:Radio – Omnis Veneratio – Mixed by Bethany

You never quite know what to expect from Bethany. She keeps her artistic agendas hidden during the entire mix process, then releases a finished product that is always a delight and surprise upon which to feast your ears. This episode takes a deeper and darker path than her last few; while it includes the disco and Italo classics you’ve come to expect, you’ll also encounter the likes of Legowelt and Carl Craig.
While I usually assist the DJs in designing album art, Bethany’s husband Gabe is responsible of all of hers. When she emailed me the art for this weeks episode, I almost fell out of my chair laughing. Gabe always does an excellent job capturing the essence of the mix while adding a little of his warped sense of humor in the process. If you would like to see more of Gabe’s work, his design firm recently won a prize for the book he helped write, design and illustrate. The book is being shown at the 2006 One Show Winners Exhibition from July 11th until September 8th at the One Club Gallery.

I really love Jamie Principle “Waiting on my Angel”. The vocal version reminds me of Peter Murphy.
