ABL:Radio - Home Skooled - Mixed by Jason Schell

HomeskooledcdinsertABrooklynLife has been bringing you DJs every week, but this edition breaks new ground. We are bringing you a living, breathing turtablist. What makes a turntablist, you ask? Well, you will just have to listen to the podcast! (I'll give you a clue, though. Expect everything from old-school hip-hop to new-school party jams, and with Jason it's always moving from one booty-shaking funky track to the next.)

I've known Jason Schell (aka DJ D-Cypol and Jason Estrellado) for a long time. Some of my early memories involve impromptu parties held under the influence of forties under a Pittsburg interstate (these memories are, naturally, a little fuzzy). He's spun around the country--New York, LA, Toronto, Phoenix, Baltimore, Philly--and now lives in Seattle where he's played at the Baltic Room, Tost, Contour, Nectar, Watertown and holds a weekly gig at Jai Thai. He's also a fab artist. If you want to contact him, use his myspace page

Even URB Magazine likes him--read their review here.

Seattle is very lucky to have Jason Schell on deck. He's the only DJ around here who can get me onto the dancefloor!
