A Brooklyn Life Radio: Gettin’ Down and Dubby

Though technically a retired DJ–Graham likes sleeping,
working in his yard and playing with his two ubercute rescued greyhounds–he happily stepped out of the shadows
for his ABL debut. Over the years, Graham has worked his way through breaks, trance, house, drum-n-bass,
two-step, downtempo and a variety of sub-genres that would reveal his true geekiness, so we won’t mention them
here. On this mix, Graham turns inward with dubby house in full effect. While all of
ABrooklynLife podcasts are designed for your Friday at-work listening
pleasure, you may want to do a little extracurricular work and take this one home with you for a
CityRag-style smoke-in. Better yet,
upload this baby to your iPod and head to the park, where you can once again commune with nature without fear of frostbite.

Great, excessively relaxing mix. Graham needs to get his ass out of retirement more often.
Those damn Norwegians! Something is clearly in the water over there. Did you know the Those Norwegians original lineup included Rune Lindbaek, who appears on my 1st ABL mix, and Torbjørn Brundtland, who went on to become 1/2 of Röyksopp?
This mix has really grown on me. Reminds me of a crazy night I randomly ended up at some Wicked Crew warehouse party south of Market St. in San Francisco back in ’01. It’s been a while since I’ve heard dubby house like this, but I realize how much I miss it.
